Generators & surge protection

Storm season on the Gulf coast means outages and power surges. We help you stay powered — safely — and protect the electronics you depend on.

Backup power options

Portable generator inlet + interlock

A weatherproof inlet and a panel interlock let you safely power selected circuits from a portable generator — no extension cords through windows.

Standby generator connection

Electrical installation of a permanently installed standby generator with an automatic transfer switch. We coordinate with the gas installer and generator supplier.

Battery backup wiring

Electrical connection of home battery systems and critical-load subpanels.

Safety note: Never backfeed a generator through a dryer outlet or "suicide cord." It can electrocute utility workers and damage your home. A transfer switch or interlock is required.

Whole-home surge protection

Lightning and grid switching can send voltage spikes through your wiring. A surge protective device (SPD) installed at the panel helps protect appliances, HVAC equipment, and electronics, and is now required by code for many new and replaced services. Point-of-use surge strips add a second layer for sensitive devices.

After a storm

If your home had flooding or water near the panel, outlets, or equipment, don't re-energize it until it's inspected. We can evaluate damage and help with the utility's reconnection requirements.
